The dish known as a burrito, which originated in Ciudad Juárez, is a staple of Mexican and Tex-Mex cooking and consists of a flour tortilla rolled up around a variety of fillings. To soften, make more malleable, and enable the tortilla to stick to itself, it is occasionally lightly toasted or steamed.
